Brewing news Russia & Slovakia: Zlatý Bažant to be brewed in Russia

Slovak beer Zlatý Bažant (Golden Pheasant) will be produced and bottled by the Slovak branch of Dutch-based brewery Heineken in St. Petersburg as of January 2006, Hospodárske noviny has recently posted. Until then bottled beer will be exported to Russia from Heineken Slovensko’s plant in Hurbanovo.

Zlaty Bazant is the third Heineken-owned brand to be produced in Russia after the brands Heineken and Buckler. The Heineken Russia distribution network called Heineken Rusko will replace independent importers for the supply not only of Zlaty Bazant, but also of another beer "Kelt", which will be brewed and bottled in Slovakia.
